Sharon Delarose has a laugh out loud hit with describing the trials & tribulations of her main character Dolly's attempts to assimilate into the culture of the deep South.
This well traveled reader completely sympathized with Dolly, having lived my whole life within shouting distance of Canada and on numerous trips down South encountered similar situations!
This nonjudgemental roadmap of one Yankees cultureshock experiences is a good read indeed!
Because I didn't pay a penny for this ebook, it seems as if this gift from the author should be acknowledged with sufficient gratitude to grant it a few more stars. Frankly, though, the first chapter was so uninteresting, I didn't make it into the second. I'd guess this book was written for women; it's possible there are some who will find it precisely their cup of tea.
An excellent introduction to the south in all it is strange glory. Quite funny.
Being born and raised in the North, I found this book particularly interesting. The author showed courage and persistence with the journey her character took. Lots of truths in this book. I thought Dottie was spunky and brave. Good and fast read. Want to curl up and enjoy a Southern journey - get this book. You won't regret it, I didn't.
