This book was a great spy story! From the moment I was introduced to the main character, I felt as though we were kindred spirits. She loved more than her country! This spy story let me know just how hard it is to choose between love of country and campanion....enjoy the suspense, I sure did!
my wife read it last weekend, and i read it this weekend. the "being dictated to" method of storytelling sets up some good foreshadowing as the narrator gets ahead of herself periodically to good effect but also could get a little choppy due time jumps back and forth. my favorite part of the book was the narrator on the run, which was well paced. i also thought the author did a good job of setting up the narrator in her "mole" role and how she learned to hide in plain sight. i think that the "middle" portion of the book where she is actively pursuing espionage could have been fleshed out by having her pursue more missions and by having her learn,use additional methods and become a more complete package as a spy. there is room for this character to have a "lost missions" sequel. as others have stated, this is a quick read and time passed quickly.
Mr. Ross came across an extrosdinary woman spy who lived through the dramatic episodes of espionage occuring throughout England during the cold war. This intriguing page turning novel demonstrates Russia's meticulous training. Sasha turns from sleeper, to informer, and then to a runner. Acurate historical content contribute to a series of events for great reading.
This book is a page turner keeps you glue to it in order to find what happen next. And you will love the characther Sasha.
This is a really fast paced thriller, I couldn't put it down. The author has used all his international experiences to great effect.
the author knows so much about the spy game it makes me wonder if he might have been involved in some of these same kind of operations!

Phenomenal story - a true page turner. Could not put it down! Espionage, exciting characters and magnificent backdrops of Russia and London. Sasha tells a fascinating story.
